Back and Front of House - 1973
At the back of the house, flagstone had been roughly placed over the ground in front of some outbuildings. The outbuildings were gone but excavation exposed the foundations. Nearby was a stone cistern filled with seeds (raspberry, grape, and elderberry. The artifact preservation in this fill was superb. To the front of the house, where a drawing in a historical atlas illustrarted what looked to be a fountain we uncovered a garbage dum/midden. It almost seems that all the materials from over the ears in the house were placed there. At the bottom of the midden was a carefully placed line of stones.
