A Sampling of Reconstructed Pots
Jomon pottery is generally organized in assemblages from sites. These sets are often loosely considered “types” in the western sense, but they are not. These photos illustrate a range of forms in the Ento-Kaso set. Ento-Kaso translates as “Lower-Cylindrical” indicated the pots are stratigraphically lower than the Middle Jomon Ento-Joso or “Upper-Cylindirical” pottery.
